Kinfolk Tech is seeking socially-engaged artists and researchers rooted in Brooklyn to co-create augmented reality monuments and to preserve community memory as part of the Community Memory Fellowship.

The Community Memory Fellowship (CMF) is Kinfolk Tech's flagship cultural program, supporting Artist and Researcher Fellow pairs in Brooklyn, NY to build augmented reality monuments and community archives rooted in local history and living memory. The 2026–2027 cohort is part of Ourchives, Kinfolk Tech's campaign marking the nation's 250th anniversary by centering the stories official commemorations leave out: displacement, people power, mutual aid, and collective imagination.

Each pair will develop a monument concept tied to the OURCHIVES themes — Making Home and Cultivating Belonging, Building People Power, Creative Culture for Survival, and Dreaming and Being Otherwise — moving from concept through prototyping, production, and a public showcase in Brooklyn.
