KIN: A Festival of Memory and Imagination
KIN: A Kinfolk Tech Festival of Memory and Imagination is opening Friday October 10 and running until Sunday to November 2. Kinfolk Tech will transform the WSA building in Downtown Manhattan into an immersive, living archive—a constellation of portals into collective memory and imagination.

Dreaming with the Archives is a public AR exhibition by Kinfolk in Brooklyn Bridge Park, blending digital monuments with the landscape to explore Brooklyn’s past and imagine new futures.

There Goes Nikki
There Goes Nikki is an AR tribute to poet and activist Nikki Giovanni, featuring her recitation of “Quilting the Black-eyed Pea” against a cosmic backdrop. Her voice guides viewers through a journey of Black memory, imagination, and liberation.

Portals of Remembrance
Kinfolk Tech and the NYC AIDS Memorial present Portals of Remembrance, an AR exhibition featuring virtual monuments by Derek Fordjour, Egyptt LaBeija, Tourmaline, and Jacolby Satterwhite. Through Kinfolk’s digital platform, the project reimagines the memorial as a space of memory and empowerment, honoring overlooked figures in the HIV/AIDS movement.
