Stories We Tend A Garden Party by Kinfolk Tech

This Garden Party is a community-centered gathering held at Whole Neighborhood Garden in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. The event marks the soft launch of Stories We Tend, Kinfolk Tech's community storytelling digital platform –  a tool for neighbors to share the memories, traditions, and artifacts that make a place home.

It's easy for a neighborhood's history to slip away amid displacement and gentrification. Stories We Tend is one way of holding onto that history before it's lost. The Garden Party is where that starts; an afternoon of food, music, and shared stories, bringing the platform to life in the place it was made for.

The gathering invites guests into an intimate, playful space built to encourage conversation, reflection, and shared history. Community gardens are living archives, tended over years by neighbors; this event is designed as an extension of what a garden already does — bringing people together around growth, care, and memory.

This event is for neighbors, longtime residents, garden members, and community partners in and around Bed-Stuy — anyone with a story to tell or a memory to preserve. It is free and open to the public.
